Contemporary Services
- “Glorified” (Jared Anderson)
- “Promises” (Jared Anderson)
- “From the Inside Out” (Joel Houston)
- “Great I Am” (Jared Anderson)
- “Everyday” (Joel Houson)
Well, you may notice something about our songs for today – only two songwriters represented, both start with J – yes, I guess that’s true. But, what I was pointing to was that three were written by Jared Anderson. Why, you say? Well, this Saturday, Jared Anderson and his team will be at Bethel for the “Hear Us From Heaven” tour. I’m very excited to have him here for this night of worship and prayer! So, our prelude CD has been music by Jared, and today I included a few songs of his, just so people are familiar a bit with his music. Of course, some of his songs need no introduction, like “Rescue” or “Amazed”, but others aren’t as familiar.
“Glorified” is a terrific call to worship that sets the tone perfectly for worship, and “Promises” is one of our favorites! We had a bit of trouble staying with the click track today on these first two songs, so I ended up killing it part way through the song. There was no loop with it, so it was easy to stop. I think the issue was not locking in on the right tempo for the click during our rehearsal Thursday. This is the first time in quite a while we’ve had to kill the click. It’s actually been going very well recently in that area! “Great I Am” is a powerful new song by Jared Anderson from the new New Life Worship CD “You Hold I It All”. If you haven’t heard it yet, you need to listen to it. I included the video of our team singing this song below. After we finished it, it was just one of those moments where we didn’t want to stop! The team was talking about it the whole morning! We ended with “Everyday”, which is always a fun, but challenging song to sing, especially after Pastor Tim’s excellent message today which challenged us to live for Him as a living sacrifice from Romans 12.
Today was also a worship choir day, so we had a full stage this morning! Love these weeks! God is so good. I wasn’t sure if I’d even be able to sing today! My voice basically went out after rehearsal Thursday, and it was barely back early this morning. But, lots of people were praying, and my voice held out, and even got stronger as the morning went on. Thank you, Lord! You can watch the video of this service, and also see the Planning Center details.

Hi Barry,
I don’t want to intrude but I would like to tell you about a resource that is saving hundreds of worship leaders time while building the skills of their vocalists; PraiseVocals.com. We produce vocal harmony part rehearsal tracks of popular P & W songs. I saw your set list on the worship community site and noticed that you sing many of the songs that we have in our song catalog. Check it out when you get a chance: http://www.praisevocals.com
Blessings 2 U,
Patrick
