Sunday Recap – October 2, 2011

Contemporary Service

Well, I wasn’t at church today, but from the little I saw on the livestream from home, and from all the comments I’ve seen on Facebook, things went great today! Recent high school grad Zack Burtness led the team today, and did a super job! Zack plays electric guitar regularly on our team, and leads regularly in our Cafe service, but this was only the second or third time he’s led in this service when I’m gone. The whole team did a fantastic job! I didn’t get any calls this morning, so I’m assuming everything went smoothly on the technical side – what a relief! I took some days off this week to do a garage sale (I know, not much of a vacation…), so we went to Blackhawk Church in Madison this morning as a family.  They do a great job there, in all three of their venues.  Of we had to have a little fun with the family, too, so we played Laser Tag this afternoon – what a fun thing to do as a family!  You can watch the video of this service and also see the Planning Center details.

Cafe Connection Service

Zack led the team in this service as well, with the same songs as the Contemporary. You can see the Planning Center details for this service.

Traditional Service

  • For the Beauty of the Earth
  • Immortal, Invisible
  • Redeemed
  • Jesus Paid It All
  • Calvary Covers It All
Thanks to Rob, who led the team this morning in the Traditional service.  The message today was “God’s Special Heart for Israel” from Romans 11.  You can watch the video  from this service and also see the Planning Center details.
This post is part of the Sunday Setlists blog at The Worship Community, where worship leaders share setlists and recaps of their worship services from today.

  1. Sounds like you had a great day of worship and family fun, Barry.

Would you recommend Planning Center? We are thinking about moving to some form of online tool and wondered what you thought about it?

    1. Terry,

Yes, we had a great day! I would definitely recommend Planning Center for your church. It has been an incredible tool for ministry, and a game-changer for us here. I’d be happy to answer any questions about it.
