Sunday Recap – 12/6/09

Well, Sunday was the official start to our Christmas season at Bethel.  With communion as well, it always makes for an interesting service combining those two themes.

So, we started with:

“Hosanna” (Paul Baloche)
“Joy to the World (Unspeakable Joy)” – from Chris Tomlin’s new Christmas CD
 – worked well since the melody was singable, and the new chorus was great!

Then, one of our worship team members brought out her flute and played on “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” (Praise Charts – Praise Carols version) during our offering. Nice duet at the start, then with a world beat.

During communion, we did:
“Remembrance (The Communion Song)” – Matt Redman/Matt Maher’s new song for communion. Wonderful lyrics and moving song!

“The Wonderful Cross” (Chris Tomlin; Michael W. Smith’s version)

Overall it was a great morning. With other rehearsals going on in December, we had to take everything off the stage after our rehearsal Thursday night. Whenever we do that, it never quite sounds as good as it does after getting things put back together in our Aviom ears.  Everything usually seems to work itself out, but it took a longer time on Sunday to get everything sounding just right. But, we got it, and the teams did a great job!
