Sunday Recap 12/13/2009

You probably could have called our service this morning – A Chris Tomlin Christmas!  It went great! We had our worship choir sing this morning along with our team and band.  We started with “O Come, All Ye Faithful”, the Praise Carols version from Praise Charts.  It was a nice way to start the service, and I think really set the whole service off in a worshipful tone.

Then, after the greeting time, we did “Angels We Have Heard on High” from Chris Tomlin’s new Christmas CD. Very straightforward arrangement, so it was easy for the congregation to pick it up and sing right along.

Our choir and team then did two special Christmas pieces, both from Chris Tomlin’s new Christmas CD –

“My Soul Magnifies the Lord”  and
“Emmanual (Hallowed Manger Ground)”

They did a great job on those!

After the message, we ended with our Christmas version of “What Can I Do?” by Paul Baloche. My wife and I co-wrote a new Christmas verse to use instead of the first verse, and the rest of the song was the same.  It was a great way to respond to our pastor’s message about Mary’s song of praise after being visited by the angel.
