Sunday Recap – October 23, 2011

Contemporary Services

Still inspired by our night of worship with Jared Anderson last week at our church, we introduced “Bless the Lord”, a new song that Jared introduced.  It has a great piano part, and as a keyboardist, it was a lot of fun to play!  It’s a great song – right from Psalm 103, very accessible, perfect for the opening of a worship service.  It had been a while since we did “A Mighty Fortress”, so it was nice to renew that one. Sheri did a great job on the solo, and the loop from Praise Charts really added some unique sounds.  Another highlight today was a song during the offering by a group called 4:00 Edison.  This is a group made up mostly of people from our worship team, and they performed “Summer Rain”, a song written by the group.  You can watch the video of “Summer Rain” and the message from today by Pastor Jamie Lane from the book of Haggai. The livestream sound mix was way off today, so I”m not able to post the video from that, but you can see the video from the special music and message. You see the Planning Center details for this service.

Cafe Connection Service

Marv led the team in the Cafe today and picked out some great songs!  Pastor Tim actually led the service for the first time, switching places with Pastor Jamie today.  All the teams worked hard to make this service come together today! You can see the Planning Center details for this service.

Traditional Service

  • “All Hail King Jesus”
  • “Crown Him With Many Crowns”
  • “And Can It Be”
  • “Jesus Loves Even Me”
  • “O Master Let Me Walk With Thee”
  • “I’ll Go Where You Want Me To Go”
The team did a great job on the hymns today, and Pastor Jamie’s message on Haggai was excellent.  You can see the Planning Center details for this service.
This post is part of the Sunday Setlist blog carnival at The Worship Community, where worship leaders share recaps from today’s worship services.
