This past Sunday was a different kind of Sunday for me, since I wasn’t actually leading the teams, but still a great morning! I was at the All About Worship Retreat in Kansas City this past week, so I had someone else lined up to rehearse and lead the teams this week. They did a great job!!
Our songs this morning were:
“Let the Praises Ring” (Lincoln Brewster)
“Awesome Is the Lord Most High” (Chris Tomlin)
“Glory To God Forever” (Vicky Beeching and Steve Fee)
“You Never Let Go” (Matt Redman)
I tried to choose familiar songs for this week that the team knew well. They sounded great! Thanks, guys!
There was just one surprise that caused some stress. We had a segment planned on a missions highlight, and they ended not being able to be there. So, we just had to scramble to find something to take its spot during the offering. A song played from a CD ended up being what we went with, and it worked fine.
I was able to hang out in the sound booth in back and just keep an eye on what was going on. Our tech crew is great – they do such a good job back there, and it usually goes unnoticed, which in most cases is a bad thing. In this case, you don’t want people turning around and looking back in your direction during the service, because that usually means something isn’t working right!
We’re getting ready to install a camera/video system in our sanctuary in the next few weeks! With that, we’re going to be launching a new Cafe Connections video venue service in our Family Life Center. Needless to say, I’ve been very busy planning for this new service! One thing we are planning to do with our new system is to stream our services live online. So yesterday since I was just hanging around in the back, I thought I would setup my computer and do a little test run with a webcam. Wow – the quality was horrible! I have a lot of work to do to figure out how to get a good sound and picture for the Livestream. Once our new cameras are installed, I’m sure it will be a whole new story.
Hope you all had a great week! Read other recaps from around the country at the The Worship Community’s Sunday Setlist blog carnival.
How exciting all the new things sound at your ministry! I hang out in the sound booth and roam around 'directing' every weekend…it's so fun! Glad you could get some off stage time!
